Top Grant Picks USDA?Farm to School Implementation Grant (Application Deadline: January 10, 2025) The Patrick Leahy Farm to School Grant Program is designed to increase the availability of local foods in schools and connect students to the sources of their food through education, taste tests, school gardens, field trips, and local food sourcing for school meals. Grants can launch new farm to school programs or expand existing efforts. The objective of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Farm to School Implementation Grant is to improve access to local foods in eligible CNP sites through comprehensive farm to school programming that includes both local sourcing and agricultural education efforts. The Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Farm to School Implementation Grant awards projects of 24 months in length for funding up to $500,000. Applicants are required to provide matching support of at least 25 percent of the total project budget in the form of cash or in-kind contributions. Eligible applicants for the Implementation grant may include schools and other institutions that operate Child Nutrition Programs, Indian Tribal Organizations, agricultural producers or groups of agricultural producers, non-profit entities, and local agencies. LEARN MORE HRSA Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program for Professionals (Application Deadline: January 21, 2025) The purpose of the Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) Program for Professionals is to increase the supply of behavioral health professionals and improve the distribution of a well-trained behavioral health workforce. The program has a specific focus on understanding the needs of children, adolescents, and young adults at risk for mental health, trauma, and behavioral health disorders. The BHWET Program for Professionals prepares the workforce by emphasizing interprofessional team-based models of care, integrating behavioral health training in primary care settings and recruiting a diverse workforce interested in serving high need and high demand areas. LEARN MORE CDC Changing Health Systems Using Evidence-based interventions to increase Colorectal Cancer Screening (Forecasted Deadline: January 22, 2025) This announcement funds recipients who will partner with health systems and primary care clinics with low colorectal cancer (CRC) screening prevalence. Recipients will work with their partners to use evidence-based interventions (EBIs) to increase screening in people aged 45 to 75 years old. The focus is on populations that have low screening prevalence and experience barriers to screening. Partner clinics must have screening prevalence below the national, regional, or local average. Programs should emphasize identifying populations that have lower screening prevalence or clinic sub-populations who may need more support to complete the screening process. LEARN MORE HRSA Addiction Medicine Fellowship (Forecasted Deadline: January 24, 2025) The purpose of the Addiction Medicine Fellowship (AMF) Program is to expand the number of fellows at accredited AMF and Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship (APF) programs trained as addiction medicine specialists who work in underserved, community-based settings that integrate primary care with mental health disorders and substance use disorder prevention and treatment services he fellowship must include training in prevention and treatment services in rural areas that do not have access or have limited access to substance use disorder treatment. The AMF Program encompasses both psychiatry and an addiction subspecialty for primary care doctors. Eligible applicants include sponsoring institutions of accredited AMF programs or accredited APF programs, or a consortium consisting of at least one teaching health center and one sponsoring institution of an addiction medicine or addition psychiatry fellowship program. HRSA Street Medicine Interventions for People with HIV who are Unsheltered - Demonstration Sites (Forecasted Deadline: February 20, 2025) This initiative will use an implementation science (IS) approach to adapt, document, and evaluate street medicine interventions for people with HIV. Street medicine is the provision of health services in unsheltered environments (such as streets, under bridges, in woods) where people reside. This emerging field of medicine and public health holds much promise to improve the health and quality of life of people with HIV. There is a need to understand core program components, strategies to scale interventions, implementation within the context of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP), and sustainable interventions in communities with variable amounts of resources. The initiative will consist of one capacity building provider, one evaluation provider, and 13 demonstration sites (all funded under separate notices of funding opportunity). Demonstration sites will: (1) Provide health services tailored to each person and their environment. (2) Retain an agile, interdisciplinary team consisting of medical, behavioral health, and social services staff who are skilled and experienced in the needs and barriers experienced by people who are unsheltered and can swiftly respond with appropriate services and resources.? (3) Work closely with the evaluation and capacity building providers to (a) adapt and document intervention and implementation strategies and (b) collect data to evaluate effects of interventions on health and quality of life. LEARN MORE Foundation Healthcare & Behavioral/Mental Health Grants Action for Women’s Health (Register to Apply: December 3, 2024; Application Deadline: January 10, 2025) Action for Women’s Health is a $250 million global open call launched by Pivotal that will fund organizations around the world that are improving women’s mental and physical health. Each awardee will receive flexible funding between $1 million and $5 million USD. Eligible organizations serve women and have a record of improving women’s mental or physical health. They should center equity in their approach and be poised to scale their work to strengthen the health of more women. The focus of each organization may range from improving women’s daily health, their longevity, their access to care, their ability to engage in daily life, and/or their opportunity to form and support a family. The open call is focused on improving the health of people from all backgrounds, ethnicities, and races who identify as women, including those within the LGBTQ+ community. Federal Education & Workforce Development Grants Personnel Development to Improve Services and Results for Children with Disabilities--Preparation of Early Intervention and Special Education Personnel Serving Children with Disabilities who have High-Intensity Needs (Application Deadline: December 3, 2024) The purposes of this program are to (1) help address State-identified needs for personnel preparation in early intervention, special education, related services, and regular education to work with children, including infants, toddlers, and youth with disabilities; and (2) ensure that those personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge, derived from practices that have been determined through scientifically based research, to be successful in serving those children. To support these goals, the Department will fund high-quality projects that prepare personnel in early intervention (EI), early childhood special education (ECSE), blindness and visual impairments (BVI), deafness and hard of hearing (DHH), deaf-blindness (DB), and adapted physical education (APE) at the bachelor’s degree, certification, master’s degree, or educational specialist degree levels for professional practice in a variety of education settings, including natural environments (the home and community settings in which infants and toddlers with and without disabilities participate), early childhood programs, classrooms, schools, and distance learning environments; including increasing the number of multilingual personnel and personnel from racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds. ACL?Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, Phase I (Application Deadline: December 16, 2024) The purpose of the Federal SBIR program is to stimulate technological innovation in the private sector, strengthen the role of small business in meeting Federal research or research and development (R/R&D) needs, and improve the return on investment from Federally-funded research for economic and social benefits to the nation. The specific purpose of NIDILRR's SBIR program is to improve the lives of people with disabilities through R/R&D products generated by small businesses, and to increase the commercial application of NIDILRR- supported research results and development products. Phase I SBIR grants are intended to conduct research to determine the scientific or technical merit and feasibility of concepts, topics, or ideas. NIDILRR will make 11 grants under this opportunity. Grants will have a 6-month project period with a corresponding six-month budget period. LEARN MORE USDA?2025 Community Wood Energy and Wood Innovation Program (Application Deadline: December 18, 2024) The intent of the Community Wood is to support forest health and stimulate local economies by expanding renewable wood energy use and innovative wood products manufacturing capacity.?The Forest Service solicits proposals for projects that will achieve the following: (1) Expand thermally led community wood energy or innovative wood product opportunities; (2) Improve Forest health; and (3) Stimulate local economies. LEARN MORE USDA 2025 Wood Products Infrastructure Assistance Program (Application Deadline: December 18, 2024) The USDA Forest Service is announcing the availability of $20 million to provide financial assistance to facilities that purchase and process byproducts from ecosystem restoration projects in areas at risk of unnaturally severe wildfire or insect or disease infestation through funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The intent is to substantially decrease the cost of conducting restoration projects involving vegetation removal on federal and Tribal lands and invest in surrounding communities. These ecosystem restoration byproducts could include trees and woody biomass harvested through timber sales, thinning, hazardous fuels reduction treatments, or other restoration management activities. Funding priority will be to provide financial assistance to an entity seeking to establish, reopen, retrofit, expand, or improve a sawmill or other wood-processing facility that will utilize the byproducts from projects on federal land, Tribal forestland, and Tribal rangeland that have been identified as at risk for fire, insect, or disease and a high priority for ecological restoration. Asphalt Art Initiative responds to the growing number of cities around the world embracing art as an effective and relatively low-cost strategy to activate their streets.
