November Foresight: Year-End Charitable Gifting and Tips for Inflation

?With the chilly winds of Fall rustling the last few leaves to the ground, we know that Thanksgiving and all of the year end holidays grow near. Inflation continues to be a hot topic of discussion and this month we posted an article that discusses a simple?investment in inflationary times. Also, in the spirit of the holidays we share a reminder of year-end charitable gifting that can provide tax relief too.

TIPS for Inflation

In February 2018, Jerome Powell was appointed as Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He became the 16th chair to take over the helm of the world’s most influential central bank. Among other duties, he and the Fed governors are tasked with adjusting short-term interest rates to help control inflation in an effort to promote overall economic growth.1


Until 2021, inflation has remained low, which has allowed the Fed to maintain low, short-term interest rates. But some are concerned that the Fed’s policies enacted during the pandemic may accelerate inflation, and they are looking for investment opportunities that have the potential to react to higher interest rates.
