Driving Impactful Climate Action by Empowering Ground-breaking Changemakers
Dear Readers,
As COP29, widely known as the "Finance COP," unfolds, global discussions focus on setting a new climate finance target to meet the urgent needs of developing countries. For the first time in 15 years, countries will negotiate a new funding goal to replace the $100 billion annual commitment made in 2009, which has proven both delayed and insufficient. The conference also provides a critical moment for nations to signal intent on more ambitious emissions targets, adaptation strategies, and support for loss and damage initiatives.
This month, we highlight Seba Jagat, an inspiring NGO from our first cohort, and their impactful biochar production project in Odisha, promoting sustainable agriculture and climate resilience. We also share valuable funding opportunities, fellowships, and key readings, including the latest reports on plastic pollution and climate services. Explore these resources and join us in driving positive change this month.
