NOVEMBER IS A BIG MONTH
Kadimastem Ltd.
A clinical stage biotech company using PLATFORM TECH for the Manufacturing of cells for ALS and Diabetes treatments
November is a big month. Three major happenings occur every year:?1) We say goodbye to Daylight Savings, 2) celebrate the #thanksgiving holiday and 3) do our best to raise awareness of diabetes.
Yes, November is #diabetesawarenessmonth .
In case you aren’t aware, #diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs either when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces. (Insulin is a hormone that regulates blood glucose) #worldhealthorganization .
According to the #cdc website, 3.73 million people have diabetes (11.3% of the US population) and 96 million people aged 18 years or older have prediabetes (38.0% of the adult US population).
Indeed, this is serious and that’s why scientists are working hard to develop better treatments for diabetes as well as a #cure .
The future is bright when we put the spotlight on Kadimastem Ltd.

?Kadimastem has an active program to develop a #celltherapy to cure diabetes. It’s called IsletRx , which is comprised of an expanded population of allogeneic #stemcells differentiated into functioning insulin and glucagon producing and releasing pancreatic islet cells.
Kadimastem uses a proprietary #technology to select the highest functioning cells from the enlarged population, enriches them and then transplants them into the body.?
#preclinical studies have shown that the cells are able to detect the sugar levels in the body and to produce, and secrete, on demand, the required amounts of insulin and glucagon, just like a healthy pancreatic islet.
IsletRx demonstrated safety and efficacy in a #proofofconcept preclinical study. The company is now preparing a pre-IND submission based on feedback from an INTERACT meeting with the #FDA and has been awarded patents for this technology in the last year.
?Yes, the future is promising, but in the meantime it’s important to follow doctor’s orders and stay vigilant, especially with the holiday season and all that delicious food coming our way before the end of the month – sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie….and the list goes on.
?Everything in moderation, continue to exercise and take your meds as prescribed. We know you know. Just a reminder as we turn the spotlight on diabetes and its eventual cure.
