November 4th 2019 Automation went online

Sounds like a line from the Terminator movie. At the end of 2019 we were wrapping up a normal year and Microsoft launches another new tool. I added it to a list of things to read up on. Then the pandemic hit the news cycle. Soon this list was replaced with daily governor speeches and being a healthcare procurement agent during a worldwide supply shortage.

Now that we are coming back to a new level of stability, I started on my list. Previously VBA made me feel like the image below. I would write scripts to automate entire elements of a workday. To automate everything and drive the value processes supported by Lean.

Now we have Microsoft Power Automate. This is an incredibly powerful tool. If you already know, yeah I am late for the party. If not, you have to check it out. It is an intuitive application that allows any level of experience user to automate any aspect of the workforce. Without coding knowledge. You can also match it with VBA and Python to remove any boundary.

As you learn, Youtube is your best friend. A wonderful community of data scientists building tutorials and bringing you up to speed within a day. Each month Microsoft is adding more to it and i will be there with you learning it. Automation is not the future, it is the current.
