November 2024 Scolmore Group Round-Up

Now that November is wrapping up, we can embrace the festive spirit of Christmas without hesitation. Soon, our decorations will be up, and the office will be full of Christmas cheer. But before we dive into the season, let’s take a moment to reflect on the highlights of November!

Starting with the new! Ovia relaunched the Inceptor Trofa. The modular luminaire was revamped and is now part of our Inceptor Promise, so you can buy knowing every part has been considered in the circular economy.

IEC Lock had a double whammy with launches. After listening to customer feedback, we redesigned the C13 Panel Mount to be more compact and the button easier to access, after being moved to the top right corner of each outlet. They can be easily installed in PDUs for the ideal setup.

Secondly, the CX Panel Mount Connector was launched! This outlet is compatible with C14, C16, C20, and C22 plugs, and the signature locking mechanism will keep plugs in place to avoid accidental removal.

Expanding the Team

Click welcomed their newest Area Sales Manager, Andy Taylor! Andy joins us with a wealth of experience and a background in the industry and will be covering the Berkshire, Sussex, and Surrey regions.

Taking a Look at Part M

Part M has become a recent topic of discussion, and we explored that with Ben and Jake on SGTV. Watch as they discuss the regulations and answer your questions about the latest updates to Approved Document M.

Ecstatic about Elex

We were proud to be showcasing our latest and greatest products from across the Scolmore Group at six locations this year, ending in Surrey in November.

We unveiled our updated stands and included a Spin the Wheel prize draw! Hundreds of prizes have been given away, including merch, Greggs vouchers, and even mini fridges!

The Electician's Olympics

Throughout 2024, the Scolmore Group was once again a delivery partner for SkillELECTRIC, a competition for electrical apprentices to showcase their skills. Throughout the events, the participants were tasked with installing a variety of key electrical components such as consumer units and wiring accessories.

SGTV was lucky enough to catch up with one of the contestants, Fabian Maciejewski to how he prepared for the finals!

We wish a huge congratulations to the winner Charlie Moore, and all of the participants on their hard work.

Going For Gold!

Click was honoured with three award wins for Supplier of the Year! The prestigious accolades came from MIDA, AWEBB, and AIEW, with each one being voted by buying group members to recognise and celebrate excellence.

Moving On Up!

Ovia was pleased to welcome a new Regional Sales Manager in November. Mark Humphry will be overseeing the Midlands area and has previous experience in the electrical industry.

Circular Economy Makes the World Go Round

TM66 is a crucial topic right now, and with a deep knowledge of manufacturing, Ovia hosted a webinar with Voltimum at the end of November. Jake and Tim were pleased to share their insights with the viewers, which included wholesalers, manufacturers, sparkies, and spec contractors.

Back for another 60 Second Favourite, Ben took us through some of the features and benefits of the Click Flow connectors in an SGTV video. Covering everything from the design, to how they can be used for large-scale projects.

A Song and Barn Dance

Who doesn't love a barn conversion? We definitely do!

Recently, the historic Village Farmhouse in Mears Ashby, Northants renovated its Village Farm Barns, a select development of 3 properties. Wiring accessories and Elucian consumer units from Click Scolmore were installed, along with Inceptor Omni V2 downlights from Ovia.

The fire-rated, tri-colour, dimmable downlights form part of Ovia’s premium Inceptor product range and have been a popular choice for installers thanks to the ease of installation and flexibility it offers.

New Digs for Sangamo

After over 70 years of operating at the Port Glasgow site, Sangamo moved to new premises for their manufacturing facilities.

The new building, situated at Air Cargo Centre, Paisley, has been completely redesigned to accommodate Sangamo’s specific requirements.
