Canada’s Health-Care Spending Projected to Outpace Economy in 2024
The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) released a report projecting that health-care spending in Canada will reach a new high in 2024, with expenditures expected to rise by 5.7%. This increase is attributed to the growing population and ageing demographic.
In 2022, nearly half of Canadian Veterans reported having a disability, with pain-related, physical, and sensory disabilities being the most common. Among those affected, 4 in 10 cited work-related causes, such as accidents, stress, or exposure to loud noises. Additionally, 27% faced unmet needs for assistive devices, while 26% received disability benefits, most commonly from Veterans Affairs Canada.
