November 2024

It's November, which means SOLIDWORKS 2025 is here! This month, we have a full catalog of the latest features in SOLIDWORKS 2025, multiple ways simulation can improve your designs, a big tax incentive you need to know about, and a feature about how automation is helping fill the talent gap. Let's go!

Exciting Enhancements in SOLIDWORKS 2025

SOLIDWORKS 2025 does a great job bringing enhancements across the entire product. I love the enhancements to core CAD, Electrical, Simulation, 3DEXPERIENCE, and PDM.

SOLIDWORKS 2025 is finally available to the public for download! We have full breakdowns of all the key enhancements and videos to show you how you can implement them into your workflow on our launch page. Check it out and find out how SOLIDWORKS 2025 hits the mark.

SOLIDWORKS Impact from Beginning to End

Impact and shock studies are tremendously important when designing a product. With these studies, engineers can figure out how something will break, how much force is involved, and how they can improve their product design to withstand greater impacts. Register for SOLIDWORKS Impacts: Beginning to End to learn the tool and processes available to help you master impact simulation.

Automation to Fill The Talent Gap

"People are the most important part of any automation system"

It wouldn't surprise anybody to hear that we have global supply chain issues. That, along with countless other factors, contributes to long lead times and higher prices on everything from electronics to dietary staples. One of the links in the global supply chain where we see an issue is the talent challenge in American Manufacturing. So, what can we do to bridge that gap?

Automation is an often discussed but less often implemented solution and McKinsey & Company thinks it may be time to revisit that conversation. As labor costs and demand continue to increase, robot prices decrease, presenting an opportunity to bring automation to manufacturing, packaging, and even design.

A chart comparing the change in labor costs and robot prices since 1990 in the United States. This chart is from a study conducted by McKinsey & Company.
