Introducing our Compose Multiplatform SDK

Compose Multiplatform?is a declarative UI?framework built on top of Jetpack Compose and Kotlin Multiplatform. It extends the latter’s code-sharing capabilities to enable user interface development across multiple platforms.?

We're especially excited by the possibilities this offers to Android developers aiming to bring their apps to iOS. For this reason, we've released a dedicated version of our Barcode Scanner?SDK to support this use case.?

Take a look at our?documentation?and the accompanying?tutorial?for instructions on how to integrate the Compose Multiplatform Barcode Scanner?SDK into your Kotlin app. We've also released a?guide?covering the integrating process for iOS using CocoaPods.?

Updates

Compose Multiplatform

Barcode Scanner Version Beta?6.0.0

This first beta release brings the Scanbot Barcode Scanner?SDK – including its new and improved?RTU?UI Components?– to Compose Multiplatform.

Try out the SDK yourself?to see how easy it is to set up a Kotlin app with barcode scanning functionalities that runs on both Android and iOS.

iOS & Android

iOS:?Barcode Scanner Version 6.1.0

Android:?Barcode Scanner Version 6.1.0

With the newest release of our native Barcode Scanner?SDK, users can now trigger scans using their device's?volume buttons. iPhone?16 users can also use the?new camera control button, either as a shutter button or to control the zoom level.

Until recently, memory page size in Android was limited to 4 KB to optimize performance. With Android?15, this limit was?increased to 16 KB, which our SDK now also supports. In particular, this promises faster camera launches.

iOS:?Document Scanner Version 6.1.0

Android:?Document Scanner Version 6.1.0

The Document Scanner?SDK release includes all the improvements mentioned above.

In addition, we've implemented a?no-feedback mode?that disables scanning animations and our Document Quality Analyzer.

While we recommend leaving these quality assurance features activated, you can now forego them if your use case demands it.
