November 2023: Festive Celebrations, Site Events, Gratitude, and More!
The festive celebrations continued through November, with Diwali – one of the biggest and most widely celebrated festivals in India, and across the globe by people of all faiths and traditions, even extending to The White House and 10 Downing Street! Diwali is the festival of lights, which symbolises the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance". It is celebrated over five days where people deck their homes with earthen oil lamps and other colourful lights, wear traditional clothes, exchange mithai (sweets) and gifts, burst crackers, and come together as family and friends. This year, owing to the court ban and growing environmental awareness, a lot of families in Bengaluru chose to switch to green crackers and sky lanterns. ?
November 1st is a public holiday in Karnataka, honouring Karnataka Rajotsava – commemoration of the merger the Kannada-speaking regions of Southwestern India in the year 1956, and a celebration of the Karnataka’s rich culture and heritage. The festivities continued through the month, with celebrations organised in offices, residential complexes, schools, and various other establishments. The city was adorned in a sea of red and yellow - the colours of the Karnataka flag, all through November.
November proved to be yet another busy month at the site due to a series of events, including Sports Day, Employee Development Day (EDD), Managers’ Meet, Karnataka Rajyotsava (picture above), Give Together, SabreTalks, and more. We also hosted a TEO All-Hands session featuring Dominic Briggs - SVP Site Reliability Engineering, and a W!T Open House with Corrie DeCamp - SVP, Product Management. Before we wrap up the year, we have one big event left - the Sabre Year-end Get-together 2023, which will take place on December 11, 2023, where our team members will have the opportunity to meet and engage with their colleagues, and unwind over some good food and conversations. A big thank you to volunteers across functions and businesses for supporting us in planning and executing these events at Sabre Bengaluru this year. We have a lot to look forward to in 2024, in terms of events, initiatives, and business related developments. We hope you’re as excited as we are to learn about what’s to come! So make sure you stay tuned to this space, to learn more.

Sabre In the Media
Please note that there will be no Monthly Wrap next month since Sabre offices will remain closed during the last week of December. The year-end break is a tradition observed globally at Sabre, encouraging our team to take additional time-off (in addition to the regular paid time-off) to recharge and rejuvenate. The next edition of the wrap will return in January. Until then, we wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
