November 2022 DEI - Movember for Men's Health

During the month of November for DEI, the credit union focused on Movember, which is an annual event to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s mental health. The main event was our Stache of the Titans competition, where 10 of our male employees volunteered to grow out their facial hair for the entire month. Our employees could donate money to vote for their favorite competitor, and all funds raised would be donated to a local men’s charity. After a tight race, Shay Strawn, one of our Financial Service Reps, was crowned the 2022 Stache of the Titans winner. We chose Haven Homes, a local program that provides safe housing, work and service programs, and counseling for men who are struggling with life issues such as drug abuse, alcoholism, and addiction, as our charity of choice.

Also, throughout the month we posted shout-outs from fellow employees called It’s Raining RRCU Men. Employees were able to “rain down” praise and compliments onto their male co-workers, and these were shared on Teams.

We also shared men’s health information and resources all month, including a Movember Quiz where the winners were able to cast votes for the Stache of the Titans contest.

Movember was a huge success thanks to our incredible employees and their participation. We can’t wait for our next DEI event.?
