November 2020 update

I had a catch up this week with a leading Partner in an International firm and his message was positive and upbeat. He spoke about being busy, and they are continuing with their growth strategy for 2020/2021. Tyler Weir has remained busy with a variety of law firm clients in the City. There is a steady growth from legal firms for transformation and innovation-type roles, while demand for business development roles has remained constant. On the legal side, Data, Healthcare, Tax and Corporate are on the top of Tyler Weirs agenda. Business-critical roles are still being recruited and the senior end of the market has remained relatively buoyant. To our clients, thank you for your business and for continuing to support our partnership through the pandemic.

 That said, we are still not close to the number of open vacancies that we had this time last year. As a result of this, there are a number of stellar candidates that unfortunately have been caught out professionally with Covid 19 due to this decline in available opportunities. Unfortunately, as time goes on while waiting for the right role, confidence levels begin to drop. Our goal is to remind these candidates of their skillset and to instil confidence. It is important not to settle for a role that is not right for you. It’s a matter of timing and the right role will come your way.

This week, and after 7 months of seeking suitable roles, Tyler Weir placed an excellent candidate into a leading global firm. She had just relocated to the region as the pandemic hit. With patience, resilience and timing, it will happen. This made my week.
