November 2020 News India

So as we have reached the end of another month in the year 2020, one may say to some extent that November has been a funny period for India, if one wants to start with the hysterical part of this blog.

Economics

The funniest incident one observes is that the government is still adamant on holding on to many sectors where the PSU's are enjoying a monopoly.

Whereas in the other hand it seems they have recently announced some relaxation in norms for the restaurant running enterprises.

This is such a wonderful piece of comedy. Insisting on forcefully running businesses which in turn lead to further production in the economy.

But allowing easing of restrictions for a sector which leads to consumption and entertainment.

Of course, agreed that the eateries generate employment too. But how much is that in comparison to areas like oil, power, railways and banking ?

On top of that what do you do with the money you spend in a restaurant ? You consume food.

Whereas when a truck transportation company buys diesel then it uses that diesel into providing service to an industry which eventually helps the economy grow and generates a chain of activities.

So yes, this so called economic reform regarding food joints was the joke of the year 2020.

it was a joke not because it is wrong to liberalize norms for the eateries. it was comical because it is clear that their running the PSU's is so important for them that they would rather ease regulations in the already privatized sectors like restaurants.

Having said that the proposed privatisation of Distcoms in union territories is a positive initiative but then who knows how long it will take.

Had they had enough dedication, they could have at least proposed the privatization of Distcoms in NDA ruled states too side-by-side.

This is where the atal vihari vajpayee government ends up being far superior to this one because they just used to do things instantly and that too full-heartedly instead of this government which has had a "go-slow" and "make-a-policy" and "plan-a-reform" mindset.

On the other hand they have done so many things which even vajpayee ji could not - like gst, demonetization, article 370 removal, FDI liberalisation, lower taxation and so much more which i do not remember off-hand because it is a humongous list.

on the other hand ABV got only 6 years and that too without a majority.

so, from an overall angle, personally speaking im frustrated due to a cautious, defensive approach applied by this administration.

obviously this guarded way of voyage seems to be under play after keeping an eye on 2024. for sure the BJP deserves to be in power.

but then there is a limit up to what extent you can afford to compromise just to keep the masses happy even if the unemployed are slowly dying.

the public will never understand and never learn that this country will soon perish if we do not enable the zero-child policy. after all we are a country with a very high percentage of emotional illiterates.

and out of the literate section of the society, the majority (not all) of the so called intellectuals are educated fools. they will always crib and always protest against disinvestment.

the navratnas working at a 5% profit margin are family silver but the ones sold by ABV and now working at 25% profit margin are the dirt of the nation because they are greedy.

roltf.

anyway. so the point is that why worry about the masses ? basically we are a population with 80% of hindu segment.

so obviously owing to the blind love for hindutva, the NDA is the only choice happily or reluctantly.

gone are those days when due to a strong base enjoyed by the congress and goons / black money deployed by the third-front kept on crushing BJP for decades.

its all over. the congress even being a highly transformed party (for the good) has lost its base unfortunately, which is sad. they are as good as the NDA from a broader perspective.

so maybe it is time for some fictional storytelling -

Once upon a time there was a school with one class having 20 students and one teacher.

everyone was happy as the teacher had ample time and effort to dedicate towards each student and he didnt feel any pressure as such because of a limited number of pupils. the intelligent excelled and the lesser capable scored mediocre marks.

then slowly the number of students rose to 50. and now the tutor felt pressure and could devote only limited time and energy on each pupil.

slowly the students which were clever enough to devise ways and tactics to extract more time from the teacher started scoring better marks than the ones which were too innocent and conceited to ask for favors or equal attention. the real group with actual intelligence were introverts for obvious reasons and the mediocre variety was great at cajolery.

finally the number of students rose to 100. and that is when the game changed creating the worst possible academic atmosphere.

now the tutor started secretly giving extra classes at home to students whose parents or uncle's were influential enough to grant him some favors in the form of helping in acquiring some governmental loan or helping the trainer's son in starting a business by buying products or services, they themselves or their commercial circle regularly needed in their factories.

and the competition between the clever students (not having the support mechanism of pull) rose to such a high level that only the top 5 with extraordinary skills of flattery and playing classroom politics were successful in keeping the lesser skilled in buttering, away from the league and it ended up destroying the entire professional environment inside the school.

it is no point mentioning the remaining lot which were too individualistic and after being angered by seeing all those pathetic diplomacy and networking at play became more prideful than before and stopped hoping for success and eventually either failed or ended up in being depressed in life forever.

even if they tried to somehow approach the tutor with requests for justice, they just could not convince the teacher that they are the only ones deserving attention because they did not have those clever sales talk skills like the networkers did.

so the tutor even if having a genuine intent was unable to realize that he is being stupid in digesting stories which the networkers told him.

so he thought that he is correct in rejecting the pleas of justice from the bright group after noticing that even if they used to be brilliant once but had been scoring lesser marks since the number of students started increasing in the class. he could not solve the mystery and eventually ended up helping the dumb group instead.

this is how a society deteriorates from being noble to a cunning one in principle, when the government refrains from controlling the population just to keep the voter base in its good books.

looking at the above story one may question that - "when the number of scholars increased then why didnt the number of instructors increase alongside" ?

well, as the old saying goes - god has stopped producing land. but it is not in a position to stop reproduction.

so like they say at the end of a fable - and they all lived happily ever after.

one has no other choice but to tell the bitter truth that the line has changed to - and all the sweet sales talkers lived happily ever after and all the able died as losers one after the other as time progressed.

just like sushant singh rajput and disha salian did.

hence it is the indian governments duty to enforce laws which could crush the contact-builders and open the room for the capable to succeed.

or else presently the entire commercial atmosphere in the country has made it impossible for the intellect to compete with the cronies.

Positives in November 2020

if one looks at the brighter side then definitely and undoubtedly, huge progress has been made on various aspects -

  • fssai safety standards
  • privatization of distcoms
  • reforms in international telecom tariffs
  • labor reforms
  • hybrid renewable energy

apart from that as usual we see promises on paper like we will do this and that in the next two years. lets see how it goes.

time will tell. however there was some news allowing tatas to enter the banking industry. im not sure about it.

if its true then i will wait to see the day when tata swallows the sbi, till i die.

in addition, there was some indication about the ayurved and homeopathy doctors being permitted to undertake surgeries.

again im not sure here but if the news is true then another positive.

the allopath pharma industry is corrupt. but the real culprit is the health insurance sector. the dirtiest business all over the world. medical insurance should be banned.

Bihar and Madhya Pradesh

the government deserves a congratulatory message here. so yes. good job.

having said that, the rise of CPM and communists out there is a cause for worry and rings an alarm bell.

parties like the aam aadmi party have already spread a poisonous gas all over the country and people in delhi seem to be infatuated by their communist policies.

so yes this has to end or the poison will spread all over india.

farm bill

i dont know the details here. but it seems the FCI turns back the farmers by claiming that they dont have the capacity to store.

then the farmer sells at half the price to brokers.

finally the FCI buys the product from the brokers at full price through cheque and those FCI officials eventually get half of that difference back from the brokers in the form of cash.

so we should sell the FCI body and allow the industrialists to procure the crop.

competition will help the farmers in gaining the right price and the buying houses will benefit by way of profits.

and profits lead to expansion and employment generation.
