ExpoWest was a blast and a welcome introduction to the much anticipated new normal. Folks were just glad to be "back."?But it was noticeable that while the venue felt typical, the attendees did not. In this new normal, people are happier, even luminescent.???

There was a bit of a party atmosphere, but it was fragranced with humility and gratefulness.??Things we took for granted and believed were our right, covid, abruptly, took right away from us.??At ExpoWest, people exuded many of the underrated but critical human attributes that precede happiness. Qualities like gratitude, gladness, and exuberance replaced the tired-but-manic focus on being aggressively transactional at any cost.

?It seems that veiled within the busy bump, scrape, and action of contemporary life, we each view events global, local, and personal through the lens of our own "soul".?External influences and circumstances that percuss us, that score, and ding are not the nub of who we are; they are simply the atmosphere we breathe and exhale for a while.??

All real change starts within us. We have all experienced a massive reset, a new start. Whatever now becomes the new "normal" - will be on us. The manner of the crowds at ExpoWest suggests our trials have decisively inclined humanity toward thankfulness and a pleasanter, more appreciative mindset. We seem to have lowered our lofty, often arrogant standards for gratitude. There is a rediscovery of the joy found within the little things.

Many, many, many wellness items were on offer at ExpoWest. However, the most profound natural healing was rediscovering laughter is still the best medicine, and in relearning how much the gentle camaraderie and warm interaction of other people mean to us. It was good for the soul; everywhere, people were smiling like their wedding day—a great start to the new normal.??
