Noticing the Signals of Change
When we talk to clients and potential clients about "innovative organizations and teams", we often get asked, "what does it look like?" It's a good question, and it takes shape in different ways in different places. Part of the leadership skill of fostering an organizational shift to new ways of working involves creating space and permission for new behaviours and patterns to emerge, and then allowing those behaviours to become the new normal. Noticing those early signals of change and giving them a chance to play out, knowing that some will succeed and some will "fail", is a key part of an early Change Activation process. Erika Bailey, one of The Moment's Innovation Designers, in working with a current client, writes in this Medium post about what those early signals can look like and how to allow those signals to develop into the new normal in an organization.
