Noticing Patterns
“Finding patterns is the essence of wisdom.” - Dennis Prager
Intelligence: The ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.
Intellect:? The ability of the human mind to reach correct conclusions about what is true and what is false.
Pattern: A regularly repeated arrangement.?
Pattern Recognition: The identification and exploration of patterns in data sets
Anomaly: Something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected.
Artificial Intelligence: A machine's ability to perform the cognitive functions we associate with human minds
Recently, I performed a thought experiment by which I typed a question into Chat GPT software (an Artificial Intelligence platform) posing the question, “Are you intelligent?”? The AI program responded, it is not intelligent, it only simulates human intelligence by recognizing and analyzing patterns and/or anomalies and then processing that data into a calculation. The Chat GPT program response caused me to reflect on the scene in the 1968 epic film (and book that was published simultaneously), 2001 a Space Odyssey when the astronaut was locked out of the control room and pleaded with HAL the computer to program release the door. The computer, HAL, responded, “I’m sorry, Dave, I’m afraid I can’t do that. The mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.”?
There are at least seven recognized categories of human intelligence.? The vehicles used for ascertaining each type of intelligence include;?
Each of the above proven methods of obtaining and acquiring intelligence are forms of recognizing and analyzing patterns and/or anomalies (Pattern Recognition Theory). According to the AI software response program, the ability to “simulate” human intelligence comes from its ability to recognize and analyze patterns.? Ironically, Pattern Recognition is the fundamental basis of Even Human Intelligence.
Since much of Human Intelligence is also based on the ability to think critically (Critical Thought Analysis), I further prompted the AI by typing, “Can you think critically?”? The AI program responded (seemingly wisely). “Critical thinking is one of the core capabilities of my design. I can analyze information, evaluate arguments, and draw logical conclusions based on the input I receive. However, it's important to note that while I can process and reason through information, my "thinking" is based on patterns learned from data, rather than subjective experiences or emotions.”
Addressed below are seven types of human intelligence, each representing different aspects of cognitive functioning and abilities, all of which possess the common denominator of Pattern Recognition.??
Paradoxically, by simulating the intelligence of Artificial Intelligence, humans may move closer to an understanding of basic truths.?

SEVEN TYPES of HUMAN INTELLIGENCE
Fluid Intelligence
The ability to think logically and solve new problems in novel situations, not by relying on previous knowledge or experience but by utilizing reasoning and abstract thinking.?
Crystallized Intelligence
The accumulated knowledge, skills, and information that a person has acquired throughout their life. Learned knowledge and experience are the basis for solving problems and making decisions.
Social Intelligence
Optimizing interpersonal skills, utilizing empathy, communication, awareness, and emotional intelligence.
Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
Recognizing, understanding, and managing one's own emotions, as well as the emotions of others utilizing self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and interpersonal relationships.
Creative Intelligence
Thinking innovatively, generating new ideas, and having a high aptitude for problem solving using imagination, curiosity, flexibility, and the ability to think outside the box. Conflict resolution.
Practical Intelligence
The effective application of knowledge and skills in real-world situations using common sense, resourcefulness, adaptability, and past experiences.
Analytical Intelligence
Analyzing and evaluating information critically,problem-solving identifying patterns and trends, and drawing logical conclusions using reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Proactiveness.
