Nothing Succeeds Like Excess

Nothing Succeeds Like Excess

Kennedy didn't need to challenge America to put a man on the moon within the decade. Beating the Soviets was the real goal. Keeping space "safe" from "militarism" was the goal. But putting a man on the moon? That was just crazy.

Right?

And yet the boldness, the audacity, and the sheer breath-taking scale of that vision - "Put a man on the moon within the decade" - enabled the country to wrench itself free from the vice-grip fear of a nuclear war.

Fueled by that extraordinary vision, the US took the lead in space exploration, and "beat the Soviets",  and made space "safe from militarism", (at least from Soviet militarism.)

Oh, and also built an astonishing technical base that spawned - among other things - the internet.

Such is...

The Power of a Bold Vision

Are you a CEO or business owner?

If so, what exactly is your vision?

Sure, your company solves a problem. But merely "solving a problem" doesn't grab people's imaginations. Big, gigantic, audacious, bold vision grabs people.

Is your business threatened by thorny issues that you fear may overwhelm you? Maybe even destroy you? Are your people just punching the clock?

Wanna know how to fix that?

Be like Kennedy.

Define a bold vision, and audacious plan. Speak it into existence and then keep on leading with boldness.

Do that, and you'll be astonished how big problems solve themselves, and how many people will seize on your vision and make it their own.

"Moderation is a fatal thing; nothing succeeds like excess." - Oscar Wilde
