A skilled safety person (safety engineer, safety manager, system safety engineer, product safety engineer, whatever, on and on) can be dangerous when one has the knowledge to actually identify, eliminate or control risks to acceptable levels. Such a person is not easily swayed from the cause of protecting those exposed to uncontrolled risks regardless of political or social or managerial pressures or any other stressors. One needs to have both feet on the ground applying many forms of thinking at all times.
