Nothing fails like success

We're currently helping an IT consultancy firm, European partner of their EMEA group.

Their Sales Challenge?

"While we’re doing relatively good, we need to gain and maintain our competitive edge in this challenging marketplace. Our success made us a little too laid back, too easy going. Too cocky as it turned out. Nothing fails like success!"

Good is the Enemy of Great. Jim Collins

We need to step up our game. Our new focus:

  • Shorten the sales cycle: from 14 months to 9 months
  • Increase new business with 15% from prospective clients
  • Increase new business with 25%, helping our existing clients succeed better

How?

Beside the workshops focused on sharpening their skills (consultative selling, becoming a trusted advisor, pitching, actively listening) we from Essential Leadership will focus with our Quantum Leap Acceleration on attitude, mindset, leadership and empowerment.

While skills are essential, if not indispensable, without the right attitude and mindset, you won’t get the most out of your sales calls, presentations or other business endeavors. We use the following principles to Jumpstart the Cycle of Continuous Accelerated Growth.

We use the following principles to Jumpstart the Cycle of Continuous Accelerated Growth.

Principles Quantum Leap Acceleration

1.   Challenge the status quo. Think differently

2.   Question your mindset.

Don’t believe everything you think. What you believe is possible - or impossible for that matter - is based upon your experiences, misfortunes, setbacks, failures and frustrations in the past. Don’t’ let the past dictate your future. Also be aware of the naysayers : their opinions and frustrations kill innovation and creativity, even before you’ve started

Even the non-sales professionals need to adopt a new meaning to the word Sales. Sales is not a four-letter-word, but a way of helping your customers achieve more success. Much better, faster, more efficient and even happier, than without your support.

3.   Trust in the field of unlimited possibilities.

Be openminded, and even modest. Accept that even you – yes, you - don’t know everything. Realize you have blinkers on just like a race horse. That prevents you from seeing more than is right in front your nose.

There’s more possible than you believe in. Free your mind, and discover new possibilities!

4.   Adopt a limitless mindset.

Don’t waste energy convincing yourself, your  team leader and – mates what’s impossible. Adopt a gamechangers mindset. Play the game to win, don’t play the game not-to-lose. Your beliefs impact your perception and your feelings, your feeling impact your actions. Train your brain to see what’s possible. Asking empowering questions helps tweak your mindset. 5.   Choose Faith not Fear.

Both Faith and Fear are based on future outcomes, a future yet to be materialized.

With Faith you believe in your mind, heart and soul that what you believe in, is possible.

The impact on your behavior, your state and feelings? You’re optimistic, happy, empowered: unbreakable! Creative, unstoppable and resilient. Fearless.

When in Fear, you dread the future.

The impact on your behavior? You feel worried, uneasy and anxious. Filled with doubt and disbelief. You postpone and procrastinate. You don’t take necessary steps to move forward. Fearful of the drama’s up ahead. Once you buy-in into the illusion of fear, you unconsciously hold yourself back.

Fear an Illusion? Yep! Fear = False Expectations Appearing Real.

With powerful psychological methods team-members experience how they can coach themselves to Dare Bravely. In challenging exercises they learn to take inspiring actions despite their fear and disbelief.

Once you hardwire Courage in your brain, You can never go back to your limiting beliefs.

6.   Be Happy Optimistic and Grateful right now.

We often postpone being grateful and happy, until we’ve reached our goals. Unconsciously we believe that when we get promoted, we’ll be happy and grateful. When we hit our (sales)target, we’ll be grateful and happy. When we lose weight (oops), we’ll be grateful and happy.

The formula works the other way around: when we’re happy and grateful, we hit our targets faster, while being happier and having much more fun. Research shows that the 10% sales professionals that are happy and optimistic, outperforms the rest, the 90% of their colleagues that are not. (Shawn Achor)

7.   Accept failure as inherent to success.

No great success, without striking out, or falling flat out on your kisser. Rewire your brain: start believing that FAIL is First Attempt In Learning. You can never fail; you either succeed and win or learn.

8. Team Breakthrough

Once the Mindset Shift jumps from the individual to the teamlevel, teammates act as Kick-ass Buddy's to hold each other to their Highest Standard. They challenge and inspire each other to combine their unique Talents and Passion to create a meaningful difference for their customers. By holding each other accountable the team creates an attitude of Never Ending Improvement on the teamlevel.

Which of these eight principles will help you (and your team) make that next step from Good to Great?

Are you ready for a Mindset Shift for you and your (sales) team? We would love to hear from you! Read more about us right here!
