... and nothing else matters
What’s the most important thing for you?
You can name only one.
Business has only one function. To create customer.?
It makes running a business enterprise easier and more fun if that customer is not a one-off fluke but keeps coming back and keeps buying. Thankfully for that gods of business invented marketing and innovation.?
As Peter Druker once said, only marketing and innovation produce results in business, all the rest are costs and yet, how high on your list of importance are they? And marketing not as running a Facebook Page or have few LinkedIn posts?
By the way - do you even know what marketing really is and what it entails?
To list all of it would take a lot more than 300 words.
Out of all clever and funny, and catchy definitions of marketing out there my favourite is the simplest. It says that any activity to promote a product or service - it’s marketing. That means that pretty much everything we’re doing in business, except innovation - is marketing.?
To say that marketing is important is an understatement. Marketing is oxygen for business. And if you’re not convinced just look at those who don’t have great products and yet are able to float tones of it thanks to effective marketing.
[oh well… the importance of marketing explained in less than 300 words… no too shabby, if I may say so myself… see you next week]
