Nothing changes unless YOU change

Transforming culture and helping leaders support parents/caregivers by reducing burnout and discovering strengths. Educator| Coach| Mom
The dawn of a new school year brings a sense of excitement and hope. There is so much anticipation and energy. Lead Moms navigate the back-to-school season starting with class lists and meeting teachers, to making sure our kids have familiar faces in their class. Next, we search for the right back to school outfit and ensure the new shoes will last until October. Lastly, we make at least half dozen trips to the store to get the right materials and supplies to set our kids up for success. Our work does not stop there. We work tirelessly to introduce a morning routine that reduces some element of chaos meanwhile dreading the task of daily lunches. ?After the flurry of back-to-school preparation begins to fade, parents are met with the harsh reality of the situation.
“Will this year actually be different?”
“Will my child finally learn to read?”
“Will my child get bullied and made fun of?”
“Will I be able to show up well at work?”
“How will we be able to navigate sickness and days off?”
“How will we afford all of these things?”

Back to School is a fresh start. A new, clean slate, where we get to wipe away all of the missteps of last year and build on the good ones. There is hope. And you get to decide how to step into this year.
The only way to make a successful impact on this school year is to choose to grow. Nothing changes unless YOU change. If we want this school year to look or feel different, we must look within ourselves. We do not have the power to change others.
We cannot change our kids, the teachers, the other students, the friends, the co-workers, the boss, the company, the financial situation of the world.
We can change our attitude and how we approach our kids, the teachers, the other students, the friends, the co-workers, the boss, the company, the financial situation of the world.
