What is it about coffee that automatically changes our mood?
Is it the aroma that beckons us to a ceramic cup?
Is it the warmth that feels like an internal cozy blanket?
Does the percolating sound soothe our anxiety?
Whatever it is, coffee brings us together. More importantly, “getting coffee together” can create deeper connections with neighbors and create more connected communities.?
I recently heard of a Neighbor Coffee Hour that made me wonder, is this our answer to trying to get over of the post-covid isolation jitters?? Replacing human-interaction jitters with coffee jitters? ????
In-Real-Life events are starting to come back, so why not have one that starts at the heart of where you live?? Imagine, getting to know your neighbors, the ones who will impact your quality of life and neighborhood with a 4D experience and a coffee cup in hand.?
A Coffee Hour automatically comes with awkward-silence-breaking stranger-small-talk ideas like, “What type of coffee did you order?”? “Do you take your coffee black or with sugar and cream?”? “What type of coffee maker do you have on your kitchen counter?”??
And the “cinnamon” topping of it all (like the icing on the cake) is that coffee allows neighbors to showcase local small businesses in their community.? Grabbing coffee from your local mom & pop coffee shop can make your Neighbor Coffee Hour even more special. Highlighting your local coffee shop may encourage your shut-in-neighbors to get out and explore the community.? Heck, you may even run into each other in the future at that coffee shop.? You’ll be able to coffee-cheers each other and spread good-day well wishes with each other. Perhaps, positively changing the course of each other’s day.
