Organizations Rapidly Adopting Qlik AutoML to Bring the Power of Machine Learning to Analytics Teams
Sorry Qlik , but I have to call “Bullsh*t” on this announcement covered in DTN. It’s a “nothing” press release to try and keep awareness of the product, but tells us little other than Qlik users are adopting your new functionality.
Why am I so “down” on this announcement? Check everything that Qlik every told you in the past (before that has this “amazing ML) and you will see nothing new. Intuitive, no coding, deeper insights, take the guesswork out of analytics………. Yawn, seriously heard it all before.
OK, the AOPG team decided to publish, we still feel we should cover announcements around Analytics, but in future, please try harder, give us something at least mildly newsworthy!

The Time of Kubernetes is upon us.
This week in DSA we saw no less than five different stories from five different vendors ( 甲骨文 , Pure Storage , Nutanix , Commvault , Veeam Software ) mentioned Kubernetes. So for this news update, I am combining several DSA articles into one.
#kubernetes is an orchestration platform for containers, and if that sounds technical ….. it is?
But even if you are NOT a tech guru, you need to understand a bit about this technology. Bottom line is that if your organisation doesn’t start to adopt and use ?containers and by extension Kubernetes, then your business simply wont keep up with the competition. Speed of app development and evolving your in house applications to meet digital demands will be fuelled by this technology.

There is always an element of jumping on the bandwagon here. In my humble opinion Veeam have taken the most aggressive stance in the Data Protection space, by making the Kasten acquisition ahead of bug market demand.?But judging by the spate of announcement we have to start believing that Kubernetes is moving from niche to mainstream.
To become mainstream Crypto has to become ubiquitous, I am doubtful that will happen (though what I think rarely matters and is usually mistaken!), but for me this story backs up my viewpoint. The only way Crypto gets mass adoption is by having a simple gateway into the world of regulated fiat currency.
In truth that’s all this announcement is telling us. It begs the question if the use of crypto in every day lives will be done by exchanging to fiat currency then back again – then is it really getting mass adoption.
Lets see how this materialises, but in the meantime, lets thank the magic of APIs for crossing the divide between these two financial worlds !

I picked this story because the message that Cybersecurity is EVERYONE’s responsibility is something that can’t be espoused enough.
The days of the IT or cyber team being the first and front of an organisation cybersecurity strategy and execution are over, but unfortunately the people that need to understand this, often still do not. The owner of cybersecurity needs to be the CEO and executive team, the CISO needs to be their trusted advisor.
I would argue fiercely that training management (non-technical management) in Cyber security should the number one priority for any company that is not already doing it.
