Kate Strachnyi didn't get to cause vehicle related?mischief this time around, but she did get a grand tour live from Susan Walsh and Ravit Jain . They began in conversation with Alteryx CEO Mark Anderson , then the mayhem began...

Susan thought she was safe from danger at this Alteryx event, because Kate was all the way in the States, but no, Kate had hatched a plan with Ravit to push Susan off the Alteryx stage!

APA Conference

Wow! What an incredible event! Thank you so much to the Accounts Payable Association team for inviting us to be part of their wonderful community. Thank you for the invite, thank you for the exhibition space, thank you for the workshop slot and Key Influencer title for Susan Walsh , and thank you for the invite to the APA Awards Gala!

The APA Annual Conference, was truly a fantastic day with lovely people - huge thank you to Jamie Radford, Paige Young, Carly Cuthbert, Mike Pavely, Michael Short, Kat Moy, APAM, Rachael Radford, Kostas George Nichols LLB (Hons.), Bryony Saletes, Rebecca Dwyer, Lindsay Melvin.

Shoutout to Michael Ryan for the hilarious commentary and warm-up of the crowd. Thank you to the audience member who gave Susan and her workshop a mention!

For it's seventh year, the theme was very much acknowledging the great work Jamie and the community have done to make the APA the "heartbeat" of the Accounts Industry. And, as Karen Young FCICM mentioned 'PEOPLE are the heartbeat of your organisation, so invest in your people!'

Brad ???? Burton gave a great talk on how success is when you keep going, so don't give up! And experience is what you WIN when you lose. Loved the 24 Seconds, 24 Minutes, 24 Hours Method on making a decision - if you don't care you can't make impact. Thanks for stopping by our stand for a chat!

Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards gave a really inspiring talk with super down-to-Earth energy. He spoke a lot on the kindness of others, and how your "small" act can make a HUGE difference to someone's life! Susan was so desperate to chat with him and his partner, that Laura had to swoop in and save the day to announce the prize winners of our book and course competition ?? Congrats again to Lou Baker and Nicola Jeffs. We hope you enjoy your prizes ??

Huge congratulations to all of the finalists, runners-up, and winners of the APA awards! It's lovely to see hard work and great kindness be rewarded and showcased. It was also very moving to be witness to the heartwarming moments on stage between Jamie Radford, Mary Schaeffer, as well as Michael Ryan, a mentor of Jamie's for the past 7 years of hard work.

Shoutout to the great hosting by Des Coleman. And the incredible performance by TOM WRIGHT, as well as his colleague who came to our table. We were completely blown away by the fantastic work. Our Head of Marketing ?? - Laura Elizabeth Quelch is a big fan of Magic ??

We are honoured to now be part of this profession and look forward to working within this community and seeing what we achieve together for the greater good in the AP/P2P space ??

ProcureCon US MRO

Susan had a great time geeking out with fellow MRO procurement peeps at ProcureCon US MRO, and thoroughly enjoyed giving her talk on The Dangers of Dirty MRO Data, plus moderating a few panels and attending the Women in Procurement breakfast!

DataHour: The Dangers of Dirty Data

Did you fall into your field? What's your data story?

There was considerable agreement among the audience of Analytics Vidhya 's DataHour, as Susan Walsh spoke about her journey into data in her talk The Dangers of Dirty Data.

Many also agreed that we ALL have a responsibility to keep the data clean, which is why we need to work together, across teams, and use the data COAT framework to achieve this.

Attendees were also treated to a spooky-themed presentation, with scary examples of dirty data. Can you guess what they were?

Procurement Horror Stories

"Even when you think you know something, you might not, so make sure you use the data to guide you!"

Susan Walsh used an excellent example for this as part of the Creating Procurement Harmony Series final episode, with the inclusion of the well-known Tinder corporation, or was it? It turns out, after looking at all pieces of data, that this was NOT the Tinder you were thinking of!

"Pre-processing can be pretty scary! It's so important to get this right, as errors can cause problems for you downstream."

Robyn Sablosky introduced us to the Dirty Data Goblins! And, how they appear as missing information such as missing items and company names.

She also touches on how to weed out bad data, and how to choose the right algorithm to get the best information possible
