Notes from a small island

Notes from a small island

Here's what I've been up to last week. We're just in front of a budget week in Canberra, which should lead into a general election so I penned a LinkedIn article on how the Australian democracy works, ahead of a federal election.

I also wrote on here about why neurodiversity at work and in education needs to be nurtured, but not a the expense of those for whom the system is suited. As somebody who has been diagnosed with ADHD and embarking on a subsequent treatment plan, I'm finding out what makes me tick.

I've been blogging for Tammy Tyrrell on her site on Housing, and electoral funding.

I've also been championing extra funding for both Palliative Care nationally and specialist MS Nurses in Tasmania. We're working about getting informal kinship care recognised across Australia and looking at bio-methanol as an alternative to diesel. Quite a diverse bunch of things there.

In local news, Tasmania's vines are being harvested, with a bumper crop expected.

Have a good one - Jay
