Note to self:

Hear, hear, Tom. That is almost always the way it works! When the line is going backwards, it can get very discouraging, and that's what separates the successful from the not so successful. Like the guy who wrote dozens of screenplays before one finally got accepted. Now that's perseverance.

Hmmm. .... One of my sayings to myself and others striving toward success has been "Failure is not an option". I guess it is what one believes is failure...... When we don't quit; when we push on, sometimes blinded by our mistakes, I've always thought of what wasn't an option......failure. Once one truly believes they have failed they don't go that extra step, there are no more attempts, or the willingness to think of other options. Taking failure off the table, what option does that leave one that finds the path to success a mess or a struggle? Hmmm.... never thought of it being okay even if I don't reach the goal, in my attempt I'm not looking at failing. In the midst of confusion, dismay and impossibilities it is the determination within that I allow myself to be driven by. Yea, setbacks, challenges and obstacles tangle the journey, there's no straight route to success but as long as I know where failure is...... it's in the opposite direction of all my goals.
