A Note From @TosBoss

Good morning!

?

I hope you had a fabulous week. We've reached the end of February with just 4 days remaining and only 49 days until tax day? ?If you're not going to be ready with an accurate Income Statement (P&L) and Balance Sheet,? now is a great time to file that extension. If you need help getting your bookkeeping in order you'd better be quick...time is something bookkeepers and accounting firms are running low on at the moment.? My favorite quote for this time of year is "Poor planning on your part doesn't make things an emergency on our part."

?

This week we're talking about reputation.? No, not the Taylor Swift album.? Number 24 of the small business lessons learned is 'Vegas is still a small town. Don't screw up.'? Within each city there are networks of small business and like small towns, news travels fast.? The short article below has some insight into how to keep your reputation shiny and your business growing strong.??

?

I hope you find value in my message.? - Dida

Guarding Your Business Reputation

Small Town Ethics in a Big City World ?

By Dida Clifton

Let's talk reputation - because in the world of small business, it's like living in a small town, no matter how big the city gets. There was a saying from my Air Force days: "Just one awe shit wipes out all the atta boys."

Yeah, it's real. Especially in today's digital age, with social media and Yelp reviews, secrets are about as scarce as a sunny day in Seattle. But here's the kicker: Your business reputation isn't just about likes and stars—it's your lifeline. People talk, and if you're a jerk, trust me, they won't tell you to your face, but they'll make sure everyone else knows.

Now, here's the deal: You got to keep your finger on the pulse of your reputation. First up, social media—check it like your grandma checks her mail. Respond to comments, address concerns, and show folks you're listening.

Next, keep tabs on those reviews - every star counts.

Finally, if you're sitting on a board, member of a networking group, peer, or mastermind group for the love of "whomever you pray to," show up and do what you say you're going to do. Showing up and doing what you say you're gonna do is the very basic of for success.? That's how you make a real impression. Remember, your business and your livelihood depend on it. So, keep those eyes and ears peeled, because in the small town of small business, your reputation is your currency.

Stay sharp.

Friendly reminder, this is what every bookkeeper, accountant, and CPA is thinking right about now.? Please be patient. :)
