Nostalgia Friends
Jeremy Epstein
Professionally, I am passionate about #Marketing and #Web3. I have other passions as well and I'm not shy about sharing them on LinkedIn. ????????????????
How long do you try and hold onto a friendship that is no longer a two-way street?
There was a time, once, a while back, when you were close. But, over the years, the relationship has morphed and your efforts to connect are not reciprocated.
Sure, there are probably examples where you are the person who is not reciprocating, but in that case, you’ve already decided to let go.
What about the times when you are the one who is trying to hold on, but the other person is shrugging you off?
I was thinking of the idea of nostalgia as I rewatched the classic “Carousel” scene from Mad Men.
As Teddy said, “nostalgia is the Greek word for the pain of an old wound.”
There’s a pain of letting a friendship fade.
But, I suspect, there’s a liberation that happens when you finally let go.
