Nowadays I have a simple question on my mind, maybe you can respond very quickly, “is the management ‘règner’ (I can translate as ‘ruling ‘but I can’t feel the same meaning) or ‘a fine art’ ?
Currently I read a lot about leadership which is tt (trend topic) of today’s business world. There are thousands of lists explain what should be leader’s attitude or behaviour. I saw even an article about what should eat a real leader. :)
But what is the real situation ? Leader or manager ?
We are trying to work with people from different generations. Very various. And every generation has different point of view for responding my very first question. So management has different understanding of itself.
A little anecdote here; last time I went to a ‘chic’ far east restaurant which has quite kind waiters. But that time, they were a little different. As an introvert, I adore observing people. Within a few minutes, I understand the situation. Their colleague went for a training and didn’t come back to work. So the shift system is broken because of him. They complain very kindly to their manager. (Honestly they were extremely kind. It’s difficult to remain calm sometimes.) The manager call him and very silently ask him why he didn’t come back to work after training. But there was no any anger sign. He speaks at least 30 minutes.
At the end of this scene, I have a question on my mind; why the others come in time to their work ? Why ruling them ? Why the manager try to convince the one on the phone with using ‘art of management’ ?
Mystery …
