Northernlands 2

We are pleased to report that Northernlands 2, our online event organised in collaboration with ODILeeds, was broadcast live on 6 & 7 July! The event brought together speakers and participants from the North of England and the Netherlands, and aimed to showcase the great work that is happening across so many sectors; work that is making a real difference now, and that can lay the foundations for a version of the future that is more open, more mobile, and more innovative. We hope that it proves to be the start of further future collaboration between us and our North Sea Neighbours. 

The event focused on four main themes:

#OpenDataSavesLives: we learnt that in a medical emergency data really can save lives, but there is still a lot of work to be done to get the right data at the right time, in the right place;

#Responsible Data Collaboration: here we got to know about different initiatives set-out to responsibly collect data, and the importance of openness in this process;

#Mobility in Modern Cities: this session couldn’t be more topical. Many cities have to change their mobility planning due to the COVID-19 crisis. This also opens up opportunities to focus more on sustainable transport and smart mobility; 

#Social Interactions in a Distanced World: in this session, we discussed new ways of working and education, and the adoption of social distancing.
