Here is The Northern Salvo no. 245, full of various interesting things. Featured places include Darwen, Bolton, Leigh, Wigan and Garstang. So yes, it does have a pronounced Lancashire flavour, with even a bit of tripe. It features numerous readers' letters, mostly regarding plaques to dead steam engineers, but also more on HS2 (work of the devil) and other projects. There's all sorts really, can't remember some of it (oh yes, forthcoming book on 'Forgotten Yorkshire, etc.'). A bit on the Labour Conference, guaranteed to annoy my party comrades. Should be more than enough to keep you going until the next one, which hopefully will annoy my Conservative (yes, I have some) readers.
