Northern Business Showcase Week 3

Hello,

Welcome to Week 3. This is my weekly email showcasing a business based outside London doing awesome?work.

Last week I profiled one of the most exciting tech companies in the North.?Versori?is quickly becoming one of the most talked about businesses and Sean the founder told me after the showcase?he had 40 emails from investors and people wanting to connect.

That is incredible?to hear as it shows what I am trying to build here is working. I hope something comes of the back of some of those introductions.

Week 3:

This week?we are moving into the marketing & sales world. I know marketing covers many aspects, but one I don't think it is spoken about enough is Lead Generation.

Leads are the blood stream?of any business, and winning in this space means quickly and effectively scaling revenue and creating value.

I meet many founders who have incredible products, but their go to market strategy hasn't really been thought through.

I could bore people all day about my views on marketing and how business can be more impactful - but that's not why anyone is here.

This week, I want to introduce you to?Flowd?- an MarTech business which focuses on accelerating?businesses prospecting and lead generation.?

By chance, we've had 2 out of 3 businesses that have had a female founder. I didn't realise until now. My aim is to maintain an equitable split between male and female led businesses moving forward.?

Based:?Central Manchester

Mission:?

To?become the go-to place for business-to-business prospecting. Harnessing the usage of technology, data and insights to make smarter interactions with new sales prospects.

Story:

Mitch and Ashleigh founded the business in Lockdown - after previous attempts?of entrepreneurship taught them a lot about the world of business.

The business has grown (without funding) to become a global team of over 32+ people with offices in the UK, Europe and this year expanding into the USA.

In February?so far, they have booked over 550+ new sales meetings for their clients and are on track to deliver record-high pipeline amounts.

In 2023, they achieved a record profit and turnover - growing over 100% year on year for the last 3 consecutive?years.

What initially started as a lockdown idea is now supporting the marketing functions of some of the world's biggest companies including the likes of JustEat, Axonify and VEED.

I always let the founders add an "ask" so I have attached a one-page case study?here?of how they helped a client of theirs generate ￡2M in sales within 9 months.?

Both Mitch and Ash have begun to grow strong personal brands on Linkedin and are both people I deeply respect.?
