NORTHCLIFF HIGH SCHOOL 2024 MATRIC RESULTS

Northcliff High School is widely regarded as one of the best high schools in Johannesburg, but for those who have attended the school, and for the many parents who have had children complete their schooling at ‘Northcliff’, we are simply the greatest school ever!

The bond between staff and pupils remains a trait that has helped mould so many successful young South Africans since 1969. The bond between families, friends, colleagues and pupils stands out as a benchmark of a true South African success story. We represent the diversity and tenacity that epitomizes so many South Africans and we live the ‘South African dream’ where hard work, passion and a never-say-die attitude help to ensure that you will become a success in life.

Nothing So High is our motto, and it is the best way to express the desire of those who walk, or who have walked these corridors. Keep dreaming, work hard, keep pushing yourself - and there is simply no limit.

This is not your average school. Not only is each child part of an extensive group per grade, but here they are also expected to perform both inside the classroom and outside of it. Northcliff remains the premier school for drama with the best annual musical production of any school in South Africa. For over 35 years, Northcliff High has excelled on the stage and has produced some of South Africa’s brightest talent through its cultural offering. The sports fields are also filled with talent and the programme on offer provides excellence. As the best swimming school in South Africa and also being ranked in the top 10 tier of sports schools across many platforms, holistic development goes hand-in-hand with holistic success when representing ‘the blues’ of NHS. To reiterate, this is not your average school, this is a premier school!

Our Matric class of 2024 was yet another group who have left an indelible mark on the school. The academic results that they achieved attest to the effort that they put into their studies, along with the guidance of their teachers and support of their families.

Having laid out just how important holistic development is for Northcliff High, it is therefore always such a wonderful return on investment when the Matric class brings in results like they did in 2024. Mrs. Jenny Pierce and the academic programme within her portfolio as Deputy Principal – Academics, provides our pupils with a sincere and sound offering to enable them in furthering themselves after secondary school, and add value back to South African society.

?These statistics provide a clear picture of an environment well positioned for the development of the future of South Africa. The diversity of our environment and the subjects on offer produce results across key sectors of education. In a country where one of its key driving factors to empower and untap the potential of the future, Northcliff had developed a premier offering where pupils clearly excel across the critical sectors of participation, language development (i.e. a strong Afrikaans department), Business Studies, IT and Computer Studies and Mathematics. The future looks set to be based in the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) sector – and Northcliff High most definitely provides a solution for South Africa.
