The North West Air Ambulance Charity’s Blog - June 2023

The North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA) events provide a real opportunity for businesses and individuals to engage their staff and raise much-needed funds. This month we want to focus on some of the fantastic events that have taken place over recent weeks and some that are coming up.

Last month we had over 50 cyclists take part in the annual Wheelbase Fred Whitton Cycle event. This was a gruelling 112-mile cycle around the hills in the Lake District. It is one of the hardest one-day rides you can do but takes in great views and descents. More information about this annual event can be found?here.?

Along with the cycle event we also had the Great Manchester Run take place on Sunday 21st May. It was a great day with over 37 people running in support of NWAA. One of these runners was Ryan from MC Construction who ran in the Great Manchester Half Marathon, in support of NWAA. MC Construction has chosen to support NWAA as their charity of the year and has already held a golf day, bake-off and more activities to raise funds so that we can continue bringing the hospital to the patient.

Our crew go to dizzying heights flying to save lives and without people like you that wouldn’t be possible. So, we are calling on you to join Team NWAA and abseil down the Liverpool Cathedral on 29th July. Could you take a leap of faith and abseil 150ft down this iconic Liverpool landmark? Not got a head for heights then join NWAA on their annual NWAA Cross Bay Walk on the 15th of July. Being led by the King’s Guide, we walk from Arnside across the iconic sandy bay to Grange over Sands. It is a great day for the whole family to get involved, and support our lifesaving charity, find out more?here.?
