Normalising biking for everyone??????
Big Street Bikers
We are rolling out an electric mobility network to create a happier, healthier Aotearoa.
Kia ora?Biker?whānau,
We love how climate change conversations are increasingly reaching the mainstream.?With all the crazy weather, over what was almost a beautiful summer, not a day goes by without new and exciting climate initiatives popping up all around the country. Check out?this great one?in Timaru!?
Lots has been happening at Big Street?Bikers with new staff hires a new office on Karangahape Road and a whole lot of relentless positive energy that only a fresh year can bring!?
Thanks for being along for the ride and please feel free to forward this on?to anyone who might be keen to join our exciting journey.?

Carbon Zero Hero!
Drum roll, please. We are so proud to present our first Carbon Zero Hero in partnership with?EECA.
Each month we’re going to be introducing a regular?Biker?who loves getting around on two wheels.?
These people have changed their habit,?so it seemed appropriate to name them Carbon Zero Heroes.
Our first?Biker?is Sokko who regularly rides all over Auckland and works in Mangere.
Wellington Just Got More Secure
Congrats?Johnsonville! Just before Christmas we installed a Locky Dock at the Countdown on Johnsonville Road.?Pop in, pick some eggs (good luck finding them) and park your bike securly and safely in the Lock Dock aka?Locky Quaxing.
Then just a few weeks ago we installed our first Locky Dock on the Kapiti Coast in?Paraparaumu, just outside the local council office. How convenient.
Hug a Locky Dock
Meet Ella. Our super talented Wellington Locky Dock envoy. She gets around town by bike - commuting from Newtown to the Central City.
“ I choose to bike as it's by far the quickest way for me to get into the central city, it's also completely free.
I also love how it allows me to spend some time outside and get a little bit of movement in before I sit down at the office.”
Ella is currently saving up for her first eBike and she would love more Locky Docks in the city. Luckily her office is close to the Dixon street one.
“Locky Docks means peace of mind for me. I am usually nervous leaving my bike in the street with my cable lock, but don't have to worry with the Locky Dock! It's a no-fuss, secure option!”

Locky Docks to the rescue
We have seen it all; dogs locked to our Docks, Vespa’s and much more… but it's great to see our Locky Docks also provide a great solution to the latest developments in eMobility, the?Go Charged Velociraptor.?
Dr. Sarah Hendrica Bickerton can't charge in her new apartment building so decided to try something else;
“So, a nearly 90 min ride on the backroads from Rosedale up on the Shore, to Central Auckland and she was a DREAM to ride, so much fun!
Now locked & plugged into a Locky Dock to charge for a few hours, two blocks from my apartment”.
How do we travel to work?
It's amazing to see how many people are biking to work in the latest NZ Census.
There is so much potential for towns and cities to grow,?as economist Stu Donovan mentions;?“Five of the ten electorates with the highest rates of cycling for travel-to-work are in one city: Christchurch.?
With flat terrain and a temperate climate, IMHO Christchurch has "cycle superstar city of the South Pacific" written all over it. Huge opportunity.”
What a coincidence that that’s where Locky Docks have been installed the longest. Hmmmm.?

We're loving the paint job on our new office on K road. The future is bright! ??
