The Normal Days
Getting on stage to receive your hard-earned degree, a deserving promotion, a wefie shot taken with your favourite singer, the very first date with your partner or becoming a parent to your newborn, makes a day significant and unforgettable. These occasions can happen by chance, while others require months or even years of effort.
On the other hand, we spend most of our time doing the routine - wake up, go work, go home, walk the dog and spend time with family, before calling it a day. A normal day to be specific and that easily outnumber the significant ones.
Ask an athlete who runs the 100 meters hurdles, what matters most? Being the first to cross the finishing line in front of a cheering crowd of course! That will truly be a significant moment for any athlete to remember for a long time!
In reality, nobody would remember the 10 hurdles that were crossed before reaching the finishing line and that is what we term the "the normal days" in our lives. Without easing past each hurdle along the track, it is not possible for anyone to emerge as the winner.
While it is not wrong for any athlete to focus on crossing the finishing line, it is also important to recognize that "the normal days" play a pivot role in ensuring greater success is on the right track. Every hurdle along the way is an experience and could possibly affect what are in store for us in the future.
The next time you think today is just a normal day. THINK AGAIN!
