Birgitta Dahlgren, Executive Interim CIO

“The digital transformation is taking the customer offering to a new level”

Birgitta Dahlgren has recently completed an assignment as interim CIO for Tyréns AB , one of Scandinavia's leading consulting firms in urban development and infrastructure.

We have spoken with Birgitta and Johan Dozzi , Group CEO, about their digital transformation and today's challenges within IT.

When the development of IT gained enormous momentum with the pandemic, Tyréns wanted to drive internal and external digital transformation in its customer offering. When Tyréns' CIO left, they took the opportunity to thoroughly analyse how they would organize their digitalization efforts. To bring calm to the recruitment process, and set the strategy, they chose to engage an interim CIO.

Alongside establishing a new organization with a focus on innovation and digitalization in customer operations, Birgitta's assignment was also to review how the internal digitalization would be developed from the group's perspective and consolidate all IT aspects in a smart manner while planning for the next steps in IT.

During the spring, a cybersecurity assessment was conducted,? and she developed a plan for implementing new processes and ways of working.

S?ren Stampe, Executive Interim Manager

“The most important factors when driving a transformation are communication and people?skills”

With a background from companies like ISS and 世邦魏理仕 , S?ren Stampe has worked as an Executive Interim Manager for over 15 years, primarily in roles such as COO or Country Manager within medium-sized enterprises.

His assignments have consistently focused on change management and optimizing change management processes. In addition to his work as an Executive Interim Manager, he is also active as a senior advisor and co-owner in several companies and serves on multiple boards. He recently concluded an assignment as interim COO at H?ndverksgruppen through Nordic Interim DK . We have talked with S?ren about his experiences in driving complex changes and what it takes to achieve success.?

Why did you choose to work as an Executive Interim Manager?

“I felt things were becoming too ‘corporate,’ there was too much administration and internal politics. I’m driven by being operational and finding the path forward and driving it. Management consultants come in and give advice, but they don’t implement what they suggest, which often results in changes never being implemented. The advantage of working as an interim is that you get to both set the strategy and implement it together with your team! Another great advantage is that I learn so much, with each assignment, I develop both my industry knowledge and my leadership skills, and it’s incredibly rewarding to share this with the organization.”

Ilmo Laevuo, CEO of Gramex

“In terms of the music industry, you could say that our orchestra needed an interim conductor to ensure that the music stayed in?tune”

During the recruitment process for a new CEO at GT Musiikkiluvat Oy (GTM), the owners decided to engage an Executive Interim Manager . The company was founded in 2016 as a joint venture between Gramex and Teosto and is active in sales and marketing of background music licenses.

Ilmo Laevuo explains that they had set a new strategic direction for the company and that the assignment for the interim CEO was to anchor this within the organization: “The recruitment process for a new CEO easily takes four to six months or more. A company cannot be without a CEO for an extended period, an organization needs leadership. We had the option to use internal resources, but in my experience, you then enter a state of limbo where only the most essential tasks are carried out.”

Christina Gotthard, Talent Manager Nordic Interim Denmark

Meet Christina Gotthard Graae , Talent Manager at Nordic Interim DK in Copenhagen

Christina, can you tell us about our background?

“I have over 35 years of experience in the hotel- and restaurant industry, and a broad background ranging from working at both small beach hotels to large 4- and 5-star hotels. I have managed hotels and have worked as a hotel manager, and I have also worked at the parliament as a conference and catering manager, and at the Copenhagen Airport. I eventually made a career change where I worked as a senior recruitment consultant for 8 years to find the right employees for the right teams. I then choose to become self-employed as I wanted to decide over my own time and I now spend my time working as a Talent Manager at Nordic Interim, as well as teaching, among other things, within the hotel industry, giving lectures, and finally as a mystery shopping consultant.”
