April 4th: Nordic Maritime 2022?–?Nordic Innovation House Singapore marked its first Nordic Maritime conference held in conjunction and co-located with the annual Singapore Maritime Week organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore! The Nordic Ambassadors, prominent speakers and leaders within the Maritime industry gathered to discuss cross-border collaborations and creating new opportunities for growth and innovation between Singapore and the Nordics.?Learn more and watch video ?>

October 26th: Nordic Green 2022?– This year, Nordic Green themed 'Green Transition and Energy Resilience' brought together Nordic Ambassadors to Singapore and a panel of energy industry leaders from Neste Asia Pacific, Arctic Green Energy, Hitachi Energy and Black & Veatch to share their carbon-neutral ambitions, perspectives on Nordic strongholds and experiences with energy transition in the Nordics and Southeast Asia region. This event is made possible through a partnership between the Nordic Innovation House, the Nordic Embassies and Trade Promotion Offices in Singapore, and with funding support from Nordic Talks, a project under The Nordic Council of Ministers.?Learn more and watch video ?>

November 17th & 18th: Slush 2022 - Scaling the Best of Nordic Sustainability

  • Day 1 of Slush – Nordic Innovation Houses jointly hosted an official Slush side event that was completely sold out two weeks prior to event day! Together with key supporting partners - AstraZeneca and A.Catalyst, BioVentureHub, SMU Institute of Innovation and?Entrepreneurship, America Energy Society and Shibuya Startup Support, the event saw investors, scaleups, government agencies and innovation hubs that are keen in driving sustainability. Participants aimed to expand their networks and learn about Nordic Innovation Houses’ focus areas, activities and support for Nordic companies seeking new market opportunities in Asia or the US.
  • Day 2 of Slush – A panel discussion with AstraZeneca BioVentureHub, mobilityXlab, Business Sweden and the Nordic Innovation Houses at the AstraZeneca A.Catalyst Networking Booth. The panel topic, “Cross-Sector Convergence – An Accelerator of Innovation and Talent Attraction” saw the panellists having a down-to-earth talk about the recipe for a collaborative environment.

January 19th: The Future of Holistic Integrated Care?–?Technology is the enabler for achieving holistic integrated care and opportunities for prevention and early intervention of health conditions. Together with SGInnovate, we learned more about the future of holistic integrated care, such as how the approach aims to be multidisciplinary and how technology innovations are involved in future-ready integrated systems with speakers from the Nordics - DNV Imatis, Embassy of Finland in Singapore and from Singapore - WEB Biotechnology, National Healthcare Group Polyclinics, and moderated by ACCESS Health International.?Watch video ?>?

May 24th: Advantages of 5G: Understanding New Applications and Opportunities?– In partnership with SGInnovate, we hosted a webinar with speakers from the Nordics – Axis Communications (Sweden), Immersal (Finland) and from Singapore – SingTel, Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) to share about examples of new applications that benefit from 5G, examples of 5G-enabled use cases and growing opportunities around 5G.?Learn more?and watch video >

Nordic Delegation to Singapore for Nordic Health 4.0 Program – The Nordic HealthTech companies met Singapore public and private healthcare stakeholders in September?2022 during a week-long program. Tidewave, RoomMate, Modesensors, Otivio and Ninchat presented their products and solutions at CHART (Centre for Healthcare Assistive & Robotics Technology), Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, National University Hospital Singapore, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and Sengkang Community Hospital. In return, the Nordic companies gained understanding about the local purchasing process, customer requirements and IT integration mechanics, as well as the hospitals’ visions for the future of healthcare.

At?EcoLabsCentre of Innovation for Energy?in Singapore to discuss future collaboration opportunities in the energy sector, and to explore the EcoLabs O3 Digital TwinLab, Future Mobility Lab and co-working space. EcoLabs is jointly established by Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Enterprise Singapore, and Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore. It aims to provide startups and SMEs with essential translation facilities and connections, such as research and development manpower, lab infrastructure, testbed sites and business opportunities to help them successfully commercialise and scale their innovation efforts.?

Smart Urban Co-Innovation Lab, the first industry-led lab in Southeast Asia focused on key industry verticals including advanced manufacturing, cloud computing, smart wellness, healthcare, intelligent estates, smart mobility, sustainability, urban logistics and urban agriculture. The lab is initiated by CapitaLand Investment and supported by Ascendas Real Estate Investment Trust, Infocomm Media Development Authority and Enterprise Singapore. It provides?a ‘real world‘ living lab to bring together leaders across various industries to catalyse co-innovation communities and seed new market opportunities.?

  • July 20th: CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge Finals 2022?organised by CapitaLand and Plug and?Play APAC. As Gold Partner for this challenge, Nordic Innovation House Singapore attended the Demo Day in Singapore and witnessed the top 10 finalists pitch their innovations (out of 350 applications from 50 countries) that can make buildings more climate-resilient and resource-efficient in the built environment sector.?Find out more ?>
  • September 9th: Centre for Healthcare Innovation's Healthcare InnoMatch Finale 2022?awarded six innovative startups and SMEs (out of 256 companies), S$2.4 million in funding and collaboration opportunities with Singapore's public healthcare clusters to test-bed their new, near-market-ready solutions for possible adoption in the healthcare sector!?Find out more ?>
  • November 10th: She Loves Tech Global Conference 2022?– Icelandic Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, H.E. áslaug Arna Sigurbj?rnsdóttir made her first official visit to Singapore accompanied by a delegation of 23 Icelandic educators and industry leaders. During her trip, she participated in a fireside chat at the She Loves Tech Global Conference 2022, Asia’s Flagship Conference for Women and Tech.?Find out more ?>
  • November 14th: SIA AppChallenge Startup Track Grand Finale 2022?concluded with amazing pitches from 12 shortlisted finalists (out of 450 startups from 55 countries) to solve pressing issues in the aviation industry under the four themes: Seamless Customer Experience, Beyond Travel, People & Operations and Wild Cards. The top three most voted startup winners were announced and awarded up to 300,000 KrisFlyer miles. The SIA AppChallenge is a leading digital innovation challenge for aviation and travel organised by SIA Digital Innovation Lab, KrisLab.
