Welcome to the first digest of 2025! Hope you had a great holiday break and are ready to dive deeper into the world of APIs this year. We know we are.

Over the break, I wrote up some highlights from my keynote at the Platform Summit. I see this as a review of the top trends in the API economy in 2024, from GenAI to governance, spec drift, developer experience, unbundling, and beyond. Stay tuned for API predictions for 2025...

Next, we feature a new contributor on the blog, Do?a Armangil , CEO of Qworum . According to him, the Cambrian explosion of SaaS business applications necessitates a move away from REST and toward platforms for composable APIs.
