With almost half the year in the rearview mirror, I'm excited to share our Summer Tune-Up Checklist. Summer is the perfect time to review your goals, make adjustments where needed and be proactive to ensure the 2nd half of the year finishes strong!
7 Ways To Give Your Nonprofit A Summer Tune-Up
1. Evaluate your fundraising efforts. What goals have been met? Are there any gaps? What campaigns worked well? What did not work well? Have you been proactive with your ask? Are you on track to start 2020 with reserves?
2. Take the pulse of your donor base. Have you thanked and cared for your supporters well? Is there anyone who is not being cared for well? Have you had multiple touch points with a steady stream of communication?
3. Review your strategic plan. Are you on track/off track with your goals? Do you need to make any adjustments to the plan?
4. Review your marketing. Has your communication been clear and concise? What stories have you told? What life impact have you shown? Does your marketing effectively communicate your why and your how? What content has been most engaging (social posts, web pages, blogs, email clicks, videos, etc.)?
4. Evaluate your board performance. Perhaps it's time to conduct a formal, written board evaluation?
5. Evaluate program effectiveness. What metrics are you tracking? Are your programs producing the results intended? Are your programs effectively fulfilling your mission?
6. Evaluate staff performance and cohesiveness. Does your staff have SMART goals? Who is on track/off track? Do you discern a sense of unity and collaboration? Do they understand your why and how?
7. Evaluate financial management. Are you following fiduciary best practices? Are these in writing? Numerous studies have shown that investment in high-impact leadership development can dramatically increase the odds of achieving or exceeding organizational goals. Coaching, in particular, is a unique opportunity to meet regularly with someone whose only purpose is to help you be wildly successful.
During the months of July and August, I am offering a coaching package with 100% emphasis on helping you complete your Summer Tune-Up. Together, we will review these seven areas over the span of (4) 60-minute virtual meeting sessions.*
