This week, at Spark Group, we are shining a spotlight on an important day: International Human Rights Day, observed every year on December 10. It marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948.
By joining people around the world in recognition of this day, we affirm the fundamental principles of justice, equality, and dignity for all. For nonprofits in particular, it’s an opportunity to celebrate the progress made towards these principles and recommit to the work still ahead in building a fairer, more just world.

Promoting Values-Based Leadership The Foundation seeks to produce the next generation of public, private, and civic leaders who utilize the values for which Senator Jackson was best known. Annual deadlines for Strategic Grants and Initiatives (grants for $10,000+) are January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1. (Letters of inquiry should be submitted well before the proposal deadlines.)
