  • Introduction to classical geometrical & physical nonlinearities & non-classical geometro-physical nonlinearities in structural mechanics
  • Mechanics of composite lamina & laminates including response & failure as affected by nonlinearities
  • The "Variational Asymptotic Method (VAM)" for constructing nonlinear composite beam, plate & shell theories
  • Non-classical effects resulting from nonlinearities
  • Effects of nonlinearities on stability of thin-walled structures
  • Introduction to nonlinear finite element analysis, emphasizing mixed formulations
  • Applications to engineering structures like wing spars, pipes, springs & rotor blades
