Non-Profit Creates Virtual Book Festival for Readers to Discover Great Authors & Books

Austin, TX – Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) Texas is a nonprofit that encourages reading for all ages and has created book festivals to take place around the state of Texas. “Due to COVID-19, some events have been canceled or delayed,” said B Alan Bourgeois, the founder, and director. “It was only natural to create a virtual book festival for readers to interact with authors socially.” Each person attending the event will discover how to get a free eBook and a chance to win a $10 Visa/MasterCard gift card.

Each virtual book festival will be broadcast on Zoom to allow ample people to enjoy hearing from the authors about their books and why they wrote them. For parents, children’s authors will be reading from their books to the children, during allotted times.

The virtual book festival is free to anyone who would like to discover and explore the richness of great indie authors and their books. Simply go to the Book Festival website; https://Virtual.BookFestival.Network to access the individual days and times, along with the zoom link to watch it live. Each virtual book festival will be recorded and broadcast later on YouTube and Amazon TV.

Schedule dates for each genre and author groups are:

Tuesday, March 24, 8 - 10 PM Fiction

Thursday, March 26, 8 - 10 PM Non-Fiction

Saturday, March 28th, 9 - 11 AM Children & Middle School
