Non-Organic No More: Why You Should Make the Switch to Organic Protein

Plant-based protein is important for healthy living because it provides the nutrients that the body needs to function properly. Protein is one of the three macronutrients in the human diet, the others being carbohydrates and fat. The human body needs protein to create new muscle and tissue, act as fuel for metabolism, and generate hormones and enzymes. Because plant-based protein is easy for the body to break down and absorb, it's an excellent source of nutrients. Plant-based protein has many benefits that animal-based protein doesn't. For example, plant-based protein is easily digestible and absorbed by the body. In addition, plant-based protein is an excellent source of nutrients. However, one downside to plant-based protein is that it has lower levels of some essential amino acids. This led me to wonder if there are different types of plant-based proteins, such as organic or non-organic, and if some are better than others? This article will compare and contrast organic and non-organic plant-based proteins to determine which type of plant-based protein is better overall. I considered four factors - taste, nutritional value, nutritional content, and price -

One notable difference between organic and non-organic plant-based proteins is their taste. Many people find that organic plant-based proteins have a more natural taste than non-organic plant-based proteins. This is due to the fact that organic foods are produced without the use of chemical pesticides or herbicides. Therefore, organic foods tend to taste better than non-organic foods because they're free from harsh chemicals. People who eat organic foods report having fewer symptoms like headaches or nausea after eating compared to when they eat non-organic foods. Organic foods are also a more sustainable source of food because they don't deplete natural resources like water or soil quality. Therefore, it's important for people to make the switch from non-organic to organic foods to support sustainable agriculture practices.

Another noteworthy difference between organic and non-organic plant-based proteins is their nutritional value. Food made with organic plant-based proteins has higher levels of essential vitamins and minerals compared to food made with non-organic plant proteins. Food made with organic plant proteins has more omega-3 fatty acids than food made with non-organic plant proteins. Organic plant proteins also have a higher level of dietary fiber compared to non-organic plant proteins. Food made with organic plant proteins also has a higher level of antioxidants than food made with non-organic plant proteins. Antioxidants help combat free radicals in the body, which can lead to various health issues if left unchecked over time. Free radicals can be caused by things like exposure to chemicals in the environment or even exposure to solar radiation from the sun. Therefore, it's important for people to consume foods rich in antioxidants since the body can't naturally produce them on its own.

Apart from their nutritional content, organic plant-based proteins have a higher level of amino acids than non-organic plant-based proteins. Amino acids are essential building blocks in our bodies that help us perform various functions, such as metabolism and growth. Food prepared with organic plant-based proteins contains higher levels of essential amino acids compared to food prepared with non-organic plants. Organic food is often more expensive than non-organic food, but it's worth the extra cost since it's healthier than traditional foods. While more sustainable food options are often more expensive, there are government subsidies available to help offset the cost.

The price tag on plant-based organic protein products is another consideration to consider when trying to decide whether or not to purchase organic proteins. The cost of organic protein products can vary greatly depending on the protein source you choose and where you purchase them. For example, if you decide to purchase organic whey protein, you can expect to pay anywhere from €3–€4 per serving, compared with non-organic whey protein sources. Whereas if you purchase organic protein powder from a local health food store or online store the cost will be much less by 20%.

Overall, organic plant-based protein sources are better in taste, and nutrient-dense but more expensive.

Do you prefer organic or non-organic plant-based protein sources? Let me know why in the comments below!

My Sambo uses a lot of chickpea spad (uk word?) in baking avoiding eggs. It tastes better than ever :)
