NON ALIGNED NONSENSE AND OTHER HIMALAYAN BLUNDERS

The above was a meeting at the Bandung conference by Nehru having a tete e tete with the then PM Chou Enlai. It cost a defenseless India 50000 Sq Kms of land in ladakh , made Kashmir an international problem for India, forsook a permanent seat in the UN Security council in preference to China. Is this a world leader? Does he stand for India at all? Personally one wishes that Motilal was PM not Jawaharlal! We are now faced with Chinese invasion for which we bear consequences not only in terms of defense expenditures but also International Trade invasions right into our labor intensive industrial production. Marxists in India would like this switchover I guess!

The Constitution Of India is one inspired by Jawaharlal Nehru a man who singularly had an altruistic concept of the world bereft of its Machiavelli’s and Cardinal Richelieu’s. His other inspirations like Panchsheel forged by a jamboree of dictators such as Marshall Tito, Gamel Abdel Nasser and Sukarno ( possibly gave a twenty one gun salute to him and his family whenever he visited them overseas, unlike the others the exception being the erstwhile Soviet Union on Red Square?) . It also alienated him at least from the major democratic world leaders at a time when India was in an economically backward position - bend over for your countries benefit mister and get the best of bargains! PL 480 was rushed to India by the USA one roti out of every three roti's was from that! Country stands first! Public policy is not your personal vision of the world sir it is for the benefit of India. Your personal preferences and choice of friends are the least of its priorities.

We had two problems in Post independence India Kashmir and Hyderabad. The first was handled by Nehru and the other by Patel. The results speak for themselves. It is not even having firm hand as far as Minorities are concerned that is at issue but even for their peaceful co existence with the majority- the founding fathers including Gandhiji had an impractical approach ( Minorities are Minorities and cannot have majority rights) – which is today leading to make this part of Asia conflict ridden ( Clinton quote was worse "a dangerous place"). The minorities of India have to coexist with the others that is the way forward not the other way round. The Majority citizens also should not suffer the “Tragedy of the commons” in thinking that this “is not my problem”. You can’t always be in the fence, the problem will sooner creep towards you. Take a stand!

Nehru was so na?ve that during the Chinese aggression in the 60’s the armed forces were equipped with Khyber rifles for defense not withstanding the minimal winter clothing. The reason squarely can be made out from Nehru’s attitude “The Army? why do we need that we have the Police!” He had also his toddies the wily Krishna Menon to confuse the issues further (Praised by no less than Shashi Taroor!, as Pithamaha ( Grandfather, is it a Regional comment?) . We have even the Krishna Menon Marg in New Delhi Whatever for? Making our defense forces defenseless? Many of them to perish in the intense colds of the Chin Aksai border of Ladakh? Statesmen Indeed!
