Nolwenture's Mission to SE Asia
Rob Connell
CEO of Nolwenture responsible for business development. Interim C suite consultant and Board advisor, Venture Partner and helping technology entrepreneurs thrive.
Nolwenture had the privilege of attending an EU Gateway mission to SE Asia, focussed on Singapore and Thailand. We were extremely well supported by the dedicated team from the EU Gateway Business Avenues (see https://www.eu-gateway.eu/) and our wonderful customers in the region including Mogul.sg who are partners of Singapore's Smart Nation, with whom we had the pleasure to met Mr. Kendrick Lee, GovTech Singapore, amongst many others too numerous to list in this brief article, but our thanks go out to all. We were one of 50 companies from the EU who were all greatly supportive of one another during the mission.
NXT Asia in Singapore saw presentations, pre-arranged meetings, walk-ins and a reception hosted by the EU Ambassador to Singapore (was great to have the Ambassador of Finland to Singapore in attendance too) and we were able to share some Finnish treats on the booth and at the reception. Whilst we were all about ICT with subjects experts across AI, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, VR, etc. it was great to share our goodies after being spoilt by the great food and hospitality we received.

The second part of the mission was to Thailand. There were many noticeable contrasts. The below picture was taken with our "neighbours" Seabery from Spain with their Malaysian and Singapore representatives demonstrating their welding VR training simulators, demonstrating the cross border cooperation that was great to see.
Pongsakorn (Peck) Kiatgungwalgri from ASV Group (below photo), popped by to meet us, Peck is already representing one of Nolwenture's longest served clients, where we discussed data security and education.
We had a great reception hosted by the EU Ambassador to Thailand, again Finland was well represented with thanks to Ambassador Pirkka Tapiola and also encouraged by Kimmo Pekari from the Embassy of Finland, Bangkok. On the last day we had a site visit to dtac Accelerate, hosted by Note their head of bootcamp and community, who introduced some amazing start ups with massive transformational purpose including Globish empowering people with English language education, CarePro taking care of ageing populations and Ricult an agricultural data company helping farmers work their way out of poverty.
