Special noise reduction lubricants are formulated to provide both lubrication and noise dampening properties. It contain additives that act as vibration dampeners, effectively reducing the amplitude of vibrations in moving components. These lubricants are essential in applications where mechanical movement could generate noise, potentially affecting user comfort or product performance.
Noise reduction lubricant finds its application in car interior components, such as cup holders, armrests, door panels, storage compartments, actuators and switches. The noise reduction lubricants are also used in electric contacts, chassis, and breaking systems, seats as well as belt assemblies, locking components and hinges.
To create a high-performance lubricating film between the friction parts, precise coating thickness is a critical factor. Conventionally, the coating thickness of lubricantion film is measured indirectly, using a parallel painted metal sheet. Precise measure of the transparent, clear coat, on plastic film, on leatherette, poses a special challenge.
