Noida International Airport Makes Its First Successful Landing, Commercial Trials Begin December

The Noida (Jewar) International Airport, one of India’s most anticipated infrastructure projects, is on track to commence operations in April 2025. This milestone will mark the beginning of a new era of connectivity for Uttar Pradesh, reducing traffic congestion at Delhi’s IGI Airport and becoming a key aviation hub for the region.

Tejasvi Kapoor, real estate visionary and Managing Director of Hunt Property, stated, "The development of Noida International Airport will reshape the landscape of urban connectivity and economic growth for not only Noida but the entire region. This is a monumental step towards making UP a global player in aviation and real estate."

Expansive Infrastructure and Strategic Partnerships The airport, developed by Zurich Airport International AG, covers 1,334 hectares and will operate with two runways initially. It is strategically designed to handle 12 million passengers annually in its first phase. Over a 40-year contract with Zurich, the airport aims to accommodate up to 70 million passengers through its planned phases.

Tejasvi Kapoor of Hunt Property highlighted the broader economic impact, noting how this airport will spur real estate and commercial development in nearby areas, offering investment opportunities for businesses looking to capitalize on Uttar Pradesh's growing economy.

Airline partnerships with IndiGo and Akasa Airlines have already been confirmed, ensuring comprehensive domestic and international connectivity. Trial operations will begin in December 2024, with the first official flight expected by April 17, 2025.

Successful Calibration Landing A successful calibration landing was recently completed in October 2024, marking a significant milestone in the development of Noida International Airport.

Enhanced Connectivity and Economic Growth One of the airport's standout features is its seamless multi-modal connectivity. From integrated ground and Metro rail systems to the proposed bullet train, the airport will offer a range of transport options for passengers, setting new benchmarks in infrastructure.

Tejasvi Kapoor, expressing optimism about the economic boost from this project, added, “The Noida International Airport will not only enhance connectivity but also create immense opportunities for real estate, retail, and hospitality sectors. Hunt Property is committed to being at the forefront of this transformation.”

Projected to generate significant revenue for Uttar Pradesh, the airport is expected to contribute up to 50% of the state's aviation revenue. The economic upturn, fueled by the airport’s development, will position Noida and the NCR as key engines of growth for the region.
