Nobody needs a private jet anymore ??

Everyone is talking about the Royal Family ??, to be honest, I don't really care???♀?. But something I do find interesting is this question of carbon emissions and private jets.
Harry and Meghan emit a lot. Like ... A LOT. ?????? Just two of their trips from the UK to continental Europe produces a staggering 37.6 tonnes of carbon (according to the BBC). When the world average is 5 tonnes per person in a lifetime, you can see how damaging this behaviour is. Environmentally speaking, they are extremely destructive. Nobody needs to go to Ibiza that badly. ??
But they are not the worst. Prince Charles is actually the leader there. According to the Royal account, he uses up more than £1 million of tax payers money each year in private travel. Ouch. And I bet he doesn't off-set it!
In fact, loads and loads of celebrities emit insane amounts of carbon for no good reason. Oprah Winfrey even bought herself a private jet a few months ago, because she "doesn't like flight delays". Or a cool planet either by the looks of it!
Harry and Meghan are not the only ones who claim to be sustainable, but turn out to be heavy emitters. We have a culture were celebrity status = more carbon emissions. ??
Even Bill Gates (check out his book How to Avoid a Climate Disaster) says his private jet is his "guilty pleasure". In 2019 he took 59 flights, producing an estimated- and heart stopping - 1,600 tonnes of carbon. ??????
But I really hope this culture will change. There are signs of hope. Poor, seasick Greta Thunberg was an inspiration when she travelled to the U.S. on a freight ship to deliver her famous "How Dare You" speech. We're witnessing the gradual emergence of lygskam, which is Swedish for “flight shame”, when it comes to celebrities. And you know what... fair enough! Setting foot on a private jet is probably one of the most short-sighted and selfish things you could do. I don't care about celebrity relationship or family issues, but I do care about our planet. ?????
Royals and celebrities are supposed to set an example. They influence behaviours all over the world, and people inevitably want to imitate their lifestyle.
So here's my two cents: I support the Royal with the lowest ongoing carbon emissions. Which, I guess, makes me Team Edward ???♀???
