Nobody Hires in the Summer

So often we hear that hiring does not occur around the holidays; hiring does not happen during the summer because everyone is away. While this is not absolutely wrong, it is also not absolutely right either.
Early in my recruiting career, I would hear this from others as a justification for easing off the effort during certain months. I can honestly share that I had never had a slow season. The simple reason is I did not take my foot off the pedal. I kept doing what I had always done, and the results followed.
Do not let yourself fall into the pit of excuses as to why you should not pursue what you deserve. It may be a bit slower, however think of it as an opportunity to have your credentials evaluated within a smaller pool, while everyone else never applies.
Let everyone else take the time off, you should proceed with vim and vigor!
The best time to look for a new opportunity is when you decide to do so.
